Dr. Sheldon Sharpe, B.S., D.C.
Dr. Sharpe is originally from Newfoundland, Canada where he earned a degree in biochemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland. While there, he frequently enjoyed several sports such as fishing, hunting, martial arts, softball, and of course.... Hockey. It was actually while training for the 1993 U.S. Open Martial Arts Tournament that Dr. Sharpe decided that he would become a chiropractor. During this training, he experienced a neck injury that was resulting in severe neck pain and headaches. It even looked like the injury may keep him form competing in the event. After trying pain medications, ice, rest, etc., Dr. Sharpe finally took the advice of a friend and sought care at a chiropractic office. "After just a couple visits, I was feeling much better and pretty soon, the pain was gone completely." Dr. Sharpe went on to place 3rd in his division and still attributes his success to his first experience with chiropractic care.
After deciding that chiropractic was in his future, Dr. Sharpe visited the Palmer College of Chiropractic campus in Davenport, Iowa. "From the moment I stepped on the campus, I knew this was the place I was meant to be. Palmer has been recognized throughout the world as a leader in chiropractic training, and this was something I wanted to carry with me throughout my career". While at Palmer, Dr. Sharpe was accepted as an intern in both the biochemistry and radiography department.
After Graduating, Dr. Sharpe moved to Westminster, Maryland and practiced for 3 years. It was there he met his wife Susan. It wasn't long after that they made to move to Richmond, Kentucky where they plan to call home for years to come. On August 13th, 2008, Susan gave birth tho their first child, Andrew Thomas Sharpe.
